Cell Site Analysis

Cell Site Analysis

Cell Site Analysis is the term used to describe the review and analysis of mobile telephone records (also known as Call Data Records, Call Detail Records, or CDRs) in order to investigate where a mobile phone could have been located when calls or short messages occurred.

In experienced hands Cell Site Analysis can be used to show movement from one area to another, or support other evidence available to an investigation, for example, to prove or disprove a given scenario or alibi. When utilised optimally, Cell Site Analysis can incredibly valuable and have a powerful impact.

In the wrong hands, assumptions can be made, records misinterpreted and important issues overlooked, that result in inaccurate and misleading conclusions being drawn. In the worst examples, significant mistakes with the handling and interpretation of the data has meant that evidence has had to be 'thrown out' of the Courts.

Having been involved in the analysis of telephone evidence since it was instructed to investigations in the UK, we have considerable experience in the analysis of telephone records and operate state-of-the-art radio measuring equipment that is used to profile the radio coverage of GSM (2G) and UMTS (3G) radio cells and to plot coverage maps, which is essential for effective Cell Site Analysis.

Whether you are looking to use Cell Site Analysis to support a case to ensure a successful conviction, or need to ensure that the analysis performed by another individual is accurate, please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your requirements
